Built in 1962

Our History

The Lakeshore Inn was built in 1962 as Rivera Apartment Complex. By 1963, the spelling was changed to the Riviera. The apartments included one and two-bedroom units that boasted panoramic views of water sports, a glass enclosed elevator, a heated pool, balconies marketed as “lanais” with Aztec inspired medallions, created by local artist Lloyd Zienier. At the time, it was tallest building in Lake Oswego.

Lakewood Bay used to be called the Duck Pond and was more marsh than bay, before The Ladd Estate Company entered the scene. They made a significant transformation in 1928, creating Lakewood Bay, and renaming it accordingly. A channel was added to connect the Bay to Oswego Lake.

Today, Lakeshore Inn is the only hotel on the Lake, a landmark in its own right. Come visit and see what's new.
